In your quest to become an actor there will come a time when you consider moving to Los Angeles, CA. This is an obvious choice because Los Angeles has been known by many generations as the home of the film industry. However, over the past decade there are many other cities that are becoming film centric. You can visit these cities and find film projects taking place, agencies, casting studios, many directors and producers live in these cities and you actually have a great chance to become an actor.
1. Austin, TX:
Becoming an actor in Austin, TX can be an awesome experience. Austin is an enormous cultural melting pot that is home to film festivals and theatres. Some of the theatres include The Paramount Theatre, Arts on Reel, and The Salvage Vanguard. There is also a large amount of musical and entertainment culture in the city. You can move to Austin and should not have an issue finding a job there while being able to pursue your acting career.
2. New York, NY:
Becoming an Actor in NYC is a tremendous challenge and there are a ton of pro's and con's when moving to the Big Apple. First, NYC is very expensive. You can expect an average daily increase on everyday expenses of about 20%. Second, NY is the one of the most competitive landscapes in the film industry. New York is one of the busiest homes to casting calls, auditions, and film industry networks. While NY provides you with the best opportunities, you will need to be very prepared financially and mentally before moving there.

Los Angeles, The City of Angels.....After you arrive in this city the 1st thing that you are going to realize is that it does not seem like a city. Everything that you are looking for is sprawled out and hard to reach. You can't go anywhere without a car and you are guaranteed to sit in traffic at some point during the day. If you are going to pursue an acting career Los Angeles is the place to be. L.A. is home to the most agents, casting calls, directors, studios, and network of film industry professionals. L.A. has its own personality that has grown from the movie industry and no matter how many other cities become great cities for an actor L.A. will always take the cake.
