Stay Young By Using Art Supplies

As an ageing population looks for ever more bizarre ways to regain their youth, many people are unaware of the benefits of using art supplies.
Getting in touch with your creative side by drawing or painting is a sure fire way to keep yourself feeling young as making your very own masterpiece can be both therapeutic and exhilarating at the same time.
Even if you are unfamiliar with the world of art, you will soon find yourself hooked on the buzz of creativity because it will open up a part of yourself that you may not realise existed. Once you fall in love with making art, then the chances are that you will keep on producing paintings or developing drawings for the rest of your life and doing something you enjoy is guaranteed to keep you feeling young.
One great example of an ageing artist who is still surprisingly young at heart is the all-round Australian entertainer Rolf Harris who reached the grand old age of 80 last year but does not look a day over 50. The octogenarian claims that it is his love of art which has kept him fresh faced after all these years in the demanding industry of show business because creating has kept both his body and mind active.
Rolf continues to paint after first producing self-portraits at the age of 14 and even went on a national tour last year to promote his art work as well as presenting special television programmes about his beloved subject. The antipodean legend uses art materials to create paintings, sculptures and lithographs which sell for hundreds of thousands of pounds due to a combination of their quality and his celebrity.
Rolf is not the only sprightly pensioner who likes to keep young with art as fellow national treasure Sir Paul McCartney also revealed he still loves to paint while he is not performing his library of hit songs.
Although best known as one of the world's most famous pop musicians, Sir Paul has been making art since his school days and continues to do so to this very day which definitely contributes to his youthful appearance. The 69-year-old former Beatle first exhibited his paintings in 1999 and has even designed a series of six postage stamps issued by the Isle of Man Post which demonstrates his versatility as an artist.
If you would like to roll back the years and embrace life as an artist, then you should go out and buy the best art supplies possible.
